Cat Litter Production Process

Background on the birth of cat litter - a tribute to the father of the litter industry!

H. Edward Lowe became the father of cat litter in 1947 when he ran a building materials supply company in Cassopolis, Michigan. When one of his neighbors complained that she couldn't find suitable cat litter to replace the sand in her litter box due to snowy winters and frozen ground, Lowe thought of the company's dry clay, which was highly absorbent, and recommended it to his neighbor. The neighbor used it with great results, and Lowe saw a business opportunity.
The invention and popularization of cat litter
Lowe packaged the clay in five-pound bags, named it “cat litter, and sold it for 65 cents at local pet stores. At first, pet store owners were skeptical of the litter's sales prospects, but Lowe suggested that the litter be given away free to customers to try. Lowe was honored as the “Father of Cat Litter” and business gradually boomed.
The Development and Impact of Cat Litter
The cat litter invented by Lowe's was initially a traditional non-clumping cat litter, and later, as technology developed, clumping cat litter and many other types of cat litter appeared. The invention of cat litter has dramatically changed the way people keep their cats, making it easier for cats to defecate indoors, reducing environmental pollution and improving the quality of life for cat owners. Today, cat litter has become a necessity for cat-owning families, and there are many types of cat litter on the market, including bentonite cat litter, crystal cat litter, pine cat litter, tofu cat litter and so on.
